Haugastøl 1000 MOH
Hardangerjøkulen is the sixth largest glacier in mainland Norway. It is located in the municipalities of Eidfjord and Ulvik in Hordaland county. It is located about 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) northeast of the village of Eidfjord, about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south of Finse, and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of Haugastøl. During the summer season (10. July-15. September) a guided tour on the glacier is a highly recommended activity when visiting Haugastøl.

Consider staying an extra night — so you avoid early/late logistics.
You walk on the glacier with an experienced guide, learn basic glacier travel and get to experience the nature and views. The route may vary with conditions. Check train times at Vy and choose departures so you are at Finse before 11:00 and can travel back after approx. 18:00.
